Migration and Multi-disciplinary approach
Goals: In recent years migration and health issues have taken special importance and attention, the summer school brings this to the attention of experts, lecturers and international and local students. Heimerer College offers multi-disciplinary lectures about the impact of migration on health and other areas of human life.
The school aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge, about migration topics, lectures are combinations of lectures, seminars and interactive discussions. The college will comprise international experts coming from different countries and relevant disciplines in migration and health.
Participants: The summer school addresses students from international and local universities, those who are interested in expanding their knowledge of migration from different perspectives. We encourage to apply all interested Bachelor and Master degree students, as well as to announce that the lectures will be offered in English.
Program: Summer school topic is Migration and Multi-disciplinary approach, the program will be provided with interactive lectures, workshops, debates, and special time for independent studies and research. The program will include specialists and experts with experience in migration topics. Lectures and workshops methodology are: Problem Based Learning, Research-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning. Likewise, students will be divided into different groups, where each group will have their own mentor and together they will work on drawing up different project schemes and research materials (depending on the group’s choice).
Participants will be encouraged to translate perceived migration problems into scientific research questions. These different approaches (health, political, economic, sociological, legal and historical) will enable participants to return home with a better baggage of knowledge and skills for migration as the most complex phenomenon affecting governments and societies across the globe.
During the summer school, participants will have the opportunity to take part on different attractive places: Pristina City Museum and the Ethnological Museum Prishtina, Shpella e Gadimes Lipjan, city of Prizren as an attractive city with a special architecture, party, bowling competition etc.
Location: The summer school will be held at Heimerer College in Pristina. All participants are encouraged to bring their laptop.
Maximum number of Participants are 20
Free Fees for international students: Heimerer College together with different partners will cover main fees expenses, include: 6 nights, accommodation, all course materials, access to the physical and electronical library, wifi access, social activities, lunches and coffee breaks during lecture.
The summer school is worth 5 ECTS. We will issue a certificate of attendance through the Heimerer College.
