Bachelor of Occupational Therapy trains top-notch occupational therapist who aim to ameliorate people’s health and wellbeing. An occupational therapist will be able to assist client’s independence and their ability to perform everyday tasks.
Studying Occupational Therapy at Heimerer College is an educational experience that develops and inspires student passion to make an impact in people’s physical and mental health. The program is designed to hone the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities that an occupational therapist needs to help children manage their disability, assist the elderly recuperate from various health problems and return to their daily activities, or help people after an accident. One should join this program if they are looking to discover strategies and theories created to guide people towards healthy and meaningful lives regardless of their disability, limitations, or age.
The programs allows students to gain practical experience from day one in a variety of healthcare settings . Students will be exposed to experiential learning by observing competent professionals and being part of people’s recovery from injury, psychological difficulties, or ageing.
Occupational Therapy requires a one-to-one or individual basis treatment of clients. During this program at Heimerer College, students will learn to evaluate unique issues and tailor treatment based on client’s individual , psychological, environmental, and social needs. Therapy sessions focus on performing a comprehensive assessment and recommending changes to client’s home and other environments (eg, at work, at school). Furthermore, an occupational therapy student will also learn to educate and provide instruction to client’s family members and guardians.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy have an advantage when seeking employment within public or private sector. An occupational therapist will be able to offer services in diverse environments such as:

- Psychiatric clinic
- Neurological clinic
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Heimerer College was created according to the regulations set by the European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education (ENOTHE) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

PhD. Mulaim Kaqka
Mulaim Kaqka finished his undergraduate studies in Education and Rehabilitation with a concentration in Speech Therapy and Surveying. In 2013, he completed his master studies in Speech therapy and linguistics at the University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prof. Kaqka defended his first PhD in the Speech Therapy in 2013 at the University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Whereas, his other doctoral studies he completed in 2017 in the field of dyslexia and dysgraphia. He is currently the Dean of the Department of Therapeutic Sciences at Heimerer College.

PhD.Cand. Margarita Van Dijk
PhD. Cand. Margarita Van Dijk is a Physiotherapist specializing in Manual Therapy (Somt-Amersfoort) and has completed her Master’s degree in Humanities at the Free University in Amsterdam. Prof. Van Dijk – Jaspers is part of the Heimerer College since 2016 and teaches these courses: Therapeutic Areas, Skills and Creative Techniques 1 & 2, as well as Health conditions and Performance.

MSc Rilind Obërtinca
MSc. Rilind Obërtinca is a physiotherapist specialized in Sports Physiotherapy. He completed his Bachelor studies at the University of Pristina at the Faculty of Medicine whereas he graduated with a Master’s degree from the Lithuanian Sports University, Lithuania. MSc. Obërtinca is the world’s first physiotherapist graduated from FIFA in Football Medicine. He is also a participant of the Seminar on Sports Medicine and Sports Performance organized by the National Institute for Fitness and Sports, Japan, as a preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, 2020.

Resmije Sopa is one of the first licensed occupational therapists in Kosovo. She completed her Bachelor studies in Therapeutic Health Sciences program – Occupational Therapy at Heimerer College in Pristina. Currently, Sopa is finishing her master’s degree in the program “Management of Institutions and Health Services” also at Heimerer College. Sopa is employed at Heimerer College as an Assistant in the Department of Occupational Therapy.

Blerton Jakupi finished Medical High School at “Elena Gjika” in Prishtina. Jakupi completed basic studies at Heimerer College in Occupational Therapy. Currently, Jakupi attends master’s studies in the program “Management of Institutions and Health Services” also at Heimerer College.

MS Arban Bllaca
MSc Arban Bllaca completed his Bachelor studies in Therapeutic Health Sciences program – Ergotherapy at Heimerer College. He graduated with a Master’s degree in the program “Management of Institutions and Health Services” also at Heimerer College. During his studies, Bllaca was part of an internship in Germany where he gained a great deal of experience at the department of Occupational Therapy, Orthopedics and Geriatrics at the hospital “Marien Haus Klinik” Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. Bllaca was employed at Heimerer College as an Assistant in organizational issues at the department of Occupational Therapy.
